Love At First Listen : Tina Turner -Powerhouse, Survivor, Legend

I remember watching her VH1 Biopic at 9 years old in my living room. I remember seeing the horror that she , portrayed by Angela Basset, had gone through. She is an icon in Rock, but for black women, especially those who've known harm at the hand of their partners, she is a beacon of hope. She recently did an interview about how the trauma of that relationship haunted her even decades after, but finding joy in community and safety in music.
