Cheater Medley, Sister (Sista) Pieces, Songs for the Half Year

July is a harbinger of traumatic memories and in an active attempt to flush them all out, I have been inundating myself with memories that bring me unbridled joy. And thus, I bring to one of my favorite college memories brought to you by Boston College Jammin Toast. JT held these jam sessions every Saturday where we'd get together over some breakfast foods and whip up some killer covers and arrangements. My music degree was coming in hot with this little arrangement I did with some of my closest friends to date . It is a very happy memory and brings back the feeling of ease and joyfulness that was so easily found in our collegiate days.

Sister Pieces

I've got a few stories cooking in the memoir oven, and will be taking a few of them out. I Know What to Call it, is a sister piece to my evidently heavily consumed "Not Me Too Part 1-5" series. I've taken a long time to find the words for this. I think for people who've been in similar situations, who are dealing with CPTSD, I'm trying to write this with the utmost care as I know these topics bring about much shame and pain for those who read. But, I'm writing in the hopes of shining a little light on these kinds of issues to help all of us through.

The second or third , to be determined pieces, are Sista Pieces , tentatively titled Laughing at Black Girls, and Riding in Cars with White Boys/ Why I Understand Slave Play Now. These are stories that touch on a bit of racial trauma, which is something that in the reorganizing of thoughts and feelings from the past few years, that just kept coming up. Like all trauma, it'll keep knocking on your door until you're brave enough to face it. After a few conversations this week. I think I'm ready to open the door. And as always, there'll be some reflections on love, media, friendship, healing, CPTSD-coping mechanisms, and the like. And some Love at First Listens! So stay tuned.

Lastly, in honor of half a year passing, I compiled a playlist of my favorite/ most listened to songs from this half of the year.

As always, sending the best of wishes to you dearest reader. Be good to be people. Be good to yourself. Do no harm. Just be a good human.
